Coconut Ladoo

Ingredients

  • Dry coconut powder
  • Condense milk

Cooking Method

This is a no flame sweet, easy to prepare and good to eat.

  • Take coconut powder (easily available in the market) in place
  • Pour condensed milk in the powder. Any brand (milkmaid and Amul are common brands)
  • Prepare a tight dough of coconut power
  • Once done, prepare medium side ladoos of the same.
  • Sprinkle coconut dust over it.

Aaloo Ka Halwa (Potato Porridge)

Aaloo ka halwa is an easy to prepare and great in taste sweet dish of Navratri. It is an upvas sweet recipe also.

Ingredients

  • Three medium size potatoes
  • 4-5 tablespoon ghee
  • One medium-size bowl sugar
  • Chopped dry fruits of your choice

Cooking Method

  • Peel the potatoes and cut it in small size
  • Put a pan on the gas and pour ghee in it
  • Put all potatoes in the pan and cover it
  • Let the potato cook with the moisture it will release and ghee
  • Keep stirring in between to avoid burning
  • Mash potatoes with the help of a spatula
  • Add sugar in, it will help potato to cook nicely
  • Keep stirring the halwa to avoid burning
  • When getting dry, sprinkle chopped dry fruits over it.

Kalakand

Ingredients

  • Condense milk of any brand 150 ml
  • Paneer 250 gm
  • Elaichi half tablespoon

Method

  • Mash the paneer coarsely by hand.
  • Once it starts leaving oil, add condensed milk and milk powder in it.
  • Take a pan of the thick bottom and keep it on the gas
  • Put the mixture in the pan and cook it till it starts leaving oil from sides
  • Remove it from the pan, at the same time grease a plate and transfer the mix in it.
  • Sprinkle cardamom powder on it and cut it into square shape when cool down.

Fox Nut Kheer

This another mouth-watering Navratri sweets for 9 days, you can prepare to spread happiness.

Ingredients

  • Milk full cream 1 litre
  • Fox nut 100 gm
  • Sugar according to the taste
  • Cardamom powder

Method

This is an easy sweet dish that you can make instant and enjoy its great taste.

  • Take full cream milk in a pan and keep it for boiling
  • Add sugar cardamom powder in it and allow it to boil
  • Roast fox nut side by side till it becomes crunchy
  • Coarsely grind it in grinder or mortar and pestle
  • Once the milk has got the consistency of kheer, add grounded fox nut in it.
  • Turn off the gas and let it cool
  • Garnish it with chopped dry fruits (optional)

Singhare Ke Aate Ka Halwa (Water Chestnut Porridge)

This is a famous upvas sweet recipe of Navratri but you can prepare it as a sweet dish for celebration as well. Dry water chestnut power is used for making this halwa.

Ingredients

  • Water chestnut powder
  • Sugar
  • Ghee
  • Chopped dry fruits

Method

The preparation is same as of flour porridge. But it is tastier than flour porridge.

  • Put three-four tablespoon ghee in a pan
  • Add Water chestnut powder in it and roast it, till it becomes golden brown in colour
  • Add sugar and water. Cover it and allow it to cook 5-6 minutes on low flame.
  • When it’s dry, add chopped dry fruits.

While preparing this, there are a few important points you must keep in mind. Stir it continuously to avoid the formation of lumps. Add sugar gradually or it will caramelize.
